Storm Of The Century

My favorite thing about living by the lake is my view of Belmont Harbor. As you know, I have occasionally posted pictures of the Harbor during different times of the year. Since my time of living with this view is coming to an end in seven months, I have decided to photograph it everyday, beginning on November 1st.

I am still working out the mechanics of the project. Yesterday was supposed to be the worst storm in 70 years, so I thought, what better a day to go for a trial run with time-lapse photography. I started shooting at 7am and ended around 4pm, taking a photo every 4 seconds. I had to stop the camera a few times to adjust exposure, and at one point I knocked the camera over (!), but in the end I had approximately 7000 images! After some editing (and by no means perfect), I have captured the storm of the century (which was so completely lame).

Being that the computer memory needed for such a project would be insane, I will most likely shoot only 12-24 images a day for the seven months, resulting in just under 5800 photographs. I am so happy I won't have to leave this behind.
